The Christmas Tree Turbine

Boise, Idaho - Dec 2008

Thanks to the generous invitation of Skip Oppenheimer, we were able to install a wind turbine on the roof of the 11-story Wells Fargo building in downtown Boise, over the Christmas Season of 2008. The wind turbine charged a set of 4 marine deep-cycle batteries and lit several strings of colored lights wrapped around the tower, which from the ground looked like a Christmas tree. The lights were on a timer, to ensure that the lights were on to greet commuters leaving town after work and arriving the next morning.
